Special Message From Sri Daya Mata
Concerning Recent Hurricane in Southern U.S.

August 30, 2005

Dear Ones,

My heart goes out to all of those affected by the hurricane and flooding in the Gulf coastal areas in the southern United States. From the time we first learned of the problems resulting from these elemental forces of nature, I have been deeply praying in my own meditations for everyone involved. All the devotees in Gurudeva's ashrams have been doing the same, asking God to protect and watch over those whose lives have been disrupted by this storm, and to enfold in His loving care His children throughout this troubled world. I urge you, our worldwide spiritual family and friends, to join us in prayer, not only in connection with this difficult situation but continuously, seeking God's blessings and visualizing His healing light surrounding all who need His help, strengthening them in body, mind, and soul. And whenever we learn of any crisis or special need in the world, let our immediate response be to unite in turning our thoughts to Him. This is one of the greatest ways we can give comfort and support to others.

When the collective thoughts and actions of humanity have created patterns of inharmony and forgetfulness of God, nature also reflects that turmoil. But far more than we realize, those patterns can be mitigated through prayer, and our ongoing efforts to think and act positively. Guruji reminded us, "Most men consider the course of events as natural and inevitable. They little know what radical changes are possible through prayer." Let us use to the utmost this means of tuning in with Him whose limitless power upholds the universe, and who cares for the well-being of each soul. Prayer links our need to His omnipotence and opens wide the channel for the stabilizing, healing influence of His divine love to flow into this world.

I encourage you to participate in our Worldwide Prayer Circle, with full faith that your individual efforts are playing a vital part in helping to create greater receptivity to His transforming blessings. As you pray, keep in mind Guruji's assurance, "There is no limit to the response and the love of God, if one has faith and loves Him truly." That divine love is the answer to the heartaches and difficulties in this world. May you realize that it flows through your every sincere prayer and each effort you make to express His goodness and compassion.

God love you,

Sri Daya Mata
